Chemical Producers

The chemical industry traditionally comprises the petrochemical companies that produce industrial fossil fuels based chemicals. Historically the chemical industry has been central to the modern world economy, converting raw materials (oil, natural gas, air, water, metals, minerals) into more than 70,000 different products.

Due to environmental concerns as well long term national security reasons, the chemical industry has come under increasing pressure to diversify away from fossil fuels based feedstocks as well the high carbon legacy petrochemical production processes.

GlycosBio is looking to partner with petrochemical companies interested in diversifying away from fossil fuels based techniques. GlycosBio’s focus on industrial biotechnology or “white biotechnology” as a way to augment or lead the petrochemical industry towards green chemicals and an eventual move away from crude oil or fossil fuel derived products.
