About

Glycos Biotechnologies, Inc. (”GlycosBio”) is an international biochemical company commercializing sustainable chemicals made from diverse renewable feedstocks. GlycosBio’s immediate focus is on isoprene and other specialty chemicals that support the synthetic rubber market.

The Company was founded in 2007 shortly after uncovering groundbreaking research that enabled the production of chemicals through the fermentation of crude glycerol – a common, non-food feedstock.  GlycosBio has since advanced its platform technology focusing on other high-performance, non-food or waste-stream feedstocks that can be used to produce a portfolio of high-margin, building block intermediate chemicals.

GlycosBio’s Bio-SIM technology combined with the Company’s microbial conversion platform approach produces feedstock-to-chemical conversion rates that consistently outperform traditional sugar fermentation rates. The Company targets raw carbon sources, waste fatty acids, crude glycerol and non-food sugar streams representing low-value, carbon-rich starting materials that are widely available.

GlycosBio is entering the biochemical market in Asia with its first isoprene production plant set for groundbreaking in 2014.
